Colt SINGLE ACTION ARMY RICHARDS 1871, in OBSOLETE 44 Colt cal. In very good original condition, showing original colours. 7 1/2 barrel”, good address and Patents; in the s/r no range: 189xxx (Manufactured in 1872).
This piece has a little history and is a rare specimen, possibly one for the connoisseur. Made with a smooth bore as a Wild West Carnival Sharp Shooter's pistol (was used for shooting bullets at static close-up targets, but also used for 44 cal shot cartridges as well for smashing plates and other targets thrown in the air). Of course giving the impression of using normal bullets for these trick shots.
This Colt is in its original condition: a clean, well maintained - good looking gun.
Breach loader in working order with strong action, has the past owners initials carved into stock. Good Address, Patents and Sr No visible. The gun has been looked after in its lifetime, although has been used - as the original grips show are showing wear. Bore is clean (smooth bore). This Colt is an authentic Wild West carnival pistol used during the late 1800s and probably during the early 1900s. PRICE: £1785
