### PRICE REDUCED £6 now £43 *** NEW LISTING *** 24/9/15INDO PERSIAN LARGE LONG BULOVA DOUBLE HANDED WAR AXE CIRCA 1800 PATTERN.
Overall good / very good condition.
This is a nice old copy of a circa 1800 pattern of an Indo Persian War Axe ( These are usually described as a War Axe rather than a Battle Axe).Wide curved top decorated axe blade with spear point and armour piercing top spike. One side of the axe is decorated with traditional hand crafted stamped "nail" decoration the other side plain. You could display either way for different effect. Long elaborately turned and decorated hard wood handle. Unusual item you dont see many of these either as original or copies.
Please note this is a copy of a circa 1800 Bulova War Axe made in India presumably at some period this century ( the word India has been stamped in two places with the same traditional hand done "nail" decoration ) ... had this been an original the ticket price would have been nearer £590 than £59 !
Overall length about 77 cm; wood shaft about 55.5 cm; axe head measured in a straight line at the top ( not on the curve ) about 24.5 cm.
Odd minor chip or ding to wood handle and very slight movement to axe head otherwise overall good / very good original condition.
Would make a super display piece with any collection of arms or armour.
