INERT. This is a mint British 25mm Aden Mark 5 (25x137) aircraft DRILL/DUMMY round developed to replace the 30mm Aden canon used of the Harrier GR 5 aircraft. The new 25mm gun on paper outperformed the older 30mm cannon in weight, muzzle velocity and rate of fire. The guns rounds were link fed and was developed in the 1990s. Due to severe development problems plaguing the ADEN 25, it was unable to meet its design weight target and reliability issues. The project was finally cancelled in 1999. This is a mint condition Aden 25 dunny/drill round which is headstamped 25 mm ADEN DRILL DUMMY and retains a satin chromed finish.
