An excellent, original Hitler-Jugend (HJ) Hitler Youth dagger with nickel plated pommel and cross guard in used as carried condition. This dagger & Belt set is one of several Nazi pieces we recently acquired that are new to the market having been in storage wrapped in Newspaper since the 1960's & 70's when they originally came into the possession of a market trader. The dagger has its original undamaged black chequered grips, one inset with the HJ red and white enamel HJ diamond with black and gold swastika. It has a 5 ½” long, broad single edged blade with the motto, "Blut und Ehre !" (Blood & Honour) etched on one side. The other side is manufacturer marked E&F Horster Solingen together with RZM M7/37 (Robert Klaas Solingen Nazi Wartime armoury code) which indicates that this is an intermediate production Nazi HJ dagger (early production had just the maker’s name, intermediate had maker’s name & RZM code, late production just RZM code). It is complete with original black metal scabbard with leather integral frog and retaining strap with press stud fastener. The black finish of the metal scabbard has rubbing consistent with service wear but no dents. The dagger comes with an original period black leather service belt with which the dagger was found. All leather and stitching are clean and intact. The 1 ¾” belt is 33” length and is adjustable from approx. 32” waist to 28” waist. There are no maer or date marks on the belt. The original 1 piece nickel plated Nazi HJ buckle is embossed with the stylised Eagle carrying a Swastika within diamond surrounded by roundel with Nazi HJ motto inscription "Blut und Ehre!" (Blood & Honour). The buckle is undamaged and retains much of its original nickel finish. The rear of the buckle has an RZM roundel mark ‘M4/23’ (Franke & Co).
