The privately purchased bright metal buckle, which came in 45mm and 40mm inner widths (this is the 45mm version) was worn only with the walking out dress uniform and then only with privately purchased belts. The head of the eagle on the initially introduced ‘Heer’ buckles looked to the right. However, for some unexplained reason early in 1936 the eagles head was changed to looking to the left. In March 1936 new regulations regarding ‘Reichsadler’ and the eagles head returned to looking to its right. The pins and loop are in excellent order.
