Description

Looking to clear out a few items from my collection that I've had for a long while (more to come soon). This here is a deactivated PPS-43 submachine gun, deactivated to UK/EU spec in 2021! See details below!

ITEM INFO:

C1955 **2021 UK/EU Deactivated with Certificate** Polish PPS-43 Submachine Gun, with Spare Magazines, Sling and Folding Stock. Cold War era.

The PPS stands for "Pistalyet Poolemyot Sudayeva" (ENG: Sudayev's machine gun, in reference to Alexey Ivanovich Sudayev, one of the two original designers of this weapons alongside I. K. Bezruchko-Vysotsky), a name issued to a family of Soviet submachine guns that used 7.62x25mm Tokarev ammunition. Used in the USSR from 1942 up until the 1960s, with other countries being reported to have used them starting from 1942 up to the present day. Notable users of this submachine gun throughout the years include China, Ukraine, Cuba and even Nazi Germany after they had captured several samples for military use. Reported to have first entered production towards the middle of 1943. As a weapon that is capable of only fully automatic fire, the PPS-43 was also recognised as an improvement upon earlier Soviet weaponry like the famous PPSh-41, especially in the reliability of its magazine feeding system. Unlike the PPSh-41, the newer PPS-43 uses what's been coined as a "double-feed" design in its magazines, ditching the former "bottle-necked" feeding of the PPSh-41 which stored its rounds in a single stack, instead opting to store rounds in its magazine in more of a "zig-zag" formation as they progress further into the magazine. This particular example of the PPS-43 retains one such magazine, including spare magazines in a specialised pouch, that are not interchangeable with the PPSh-41. Later examples of the PPS-43 were also produced, namely during the Cold War. Evidence of this can be found at the top of the body of the PPS-43; one can see the number 53 (for "factory 53", its place of manufacture) stamped inside a hollow circle. Below this marking, the number 1955 (hinting at its production year) has been stamped into the weapon's body. Below both of these markings on the weapon's body, as well as on the moving bolt on the side of the PPS-43, one can see the weapon's serial number, BR-6794. The serial number indicates that this sample of the PPS-43 was made in the Zaklady Metalowe Wifama factory, also known as "factory 53", in Lódz (a city in Poland). The magazines that accompany this deactivated weapon either bear different numbers (pictured) or no numbers at all. The folding stock can only be folded and unfolded while holding down the button on the top of the weapon's body where the joints of the stock meet the rear of the weapon's body. In good condition overall, the same which can also be said for its accessories. Also includes its deactivation certificate.

I've spent plenty of time researching into these submachine guns, much to my enjoyment, and I am very open to it going to a gun or history enthusiast.

DELIVERY OR COLLECTION (UK ONLY):

Delivery to UK mainland or collection only. The price includes postage, though the cost for postage will be taken off the price if the PPS-43 was to be collected. If sent via post, bank transfer would be applicable since PayPal doesn't accept anything "gun" related. Cash on collection is also fine. I will send the tracking info of your purchase in the case that it is posted.

Sensible offers are also considered.

LEGAL INFO:

As per UK law, it is mandatory fill out and send a form (linked below) to the UK Home Office following the transfer of a deactivated firearm from one party/person to another (in this case, being the purchase of this deactivated firearm). This form would be filled out to include the full name and address of the seller (myself), the full name and address of the buyer (yourself), the date of transfer (the date you bought this deactivated firearm) and other information about this deactivated firearm including its make, serial number, calibre and country of origin. The full name and address of the buyer would, in nature, be provided in the case of this deactivated firearm being sent to them via post, though such information would still have to be recorded on this form (linked below, labelled "Notification of transfers of a deactivated firearm to the appropriate national authority") to comply with UK law even if the buyer collects their purchase in person. I've included this bit here for those who may be unsure about this and, of course, will have to send this form to the UK Home Office upon selling you this, or any other, deactivated firearm. If requested, I can send the buyer a copy of the completed form for their records, though rest assured the notification of transfer will be completed on my end.
