A very unusual Scottish Skean Duhb or Sgian Dhub, dagger, probably dating from circa 1914-1918. The hilt top mount with the an amber coloured Cairngorm stone. Another Cairngorm stone mounted to the centre of the hilt, both stones set in a heavy silver plated mount. Complete in its black scabbard also with silver mounts top and bottom. Some wear to the scabbard leather and slight age staining to the mounts. The grip of ebony and inset with an enamelled badge that reads; CITY OF ABERDEEN. NATIONAL RESERVE. (Some loss of enamel). Overall length 7.5 inches in scabbard. Blade length 3 inches. A genuine and scarce antique Scottish piece. Ref 3321. .
