An interesting 19th century Jambya dagger with silver covered hilt and silver embellished scabbard. It has an old double-edged curved blade, blade length 7 inches. Very well worked silver grip and scabbard both with finely chased silver mounts. Wooden scabbard mounted to the front with two cabochon-cut coloured hard stones and with decorated silver mounts. The top scabbard mount is engraved to both sides with an Arabic inscription. Scabbard is also fitted with an old brass band possibly to re-inforce the aged leather & wood. Overall length approx 14 inches. Good well worn condition with nice age patina. Ref 3378.
