Description

Largest selection of genuine antique weapons for sale in UK. See our website andrewbottomley.com Ref 3688. A very large 19th century primitive hand-made Bowie knife with one-piece antler grip, plain steel shaped cross-guard with shaped terminals to either side. The heavy blade made from a large file with a cut-back point, blade length is 10 inches. It is well documented that early Bowie knives were often fashioned from files. Some minor staining and signs of sharpening to blade. The antler grip made in one piece. This knife shows original signs of use and genuine wear. An excellent example of a great authentic large size 19th century Bowie-knife. Possibly made by a blacksmith in the wild west of the USA. No scabbard. Overall length 15 inches. Ref 3688. This is an obsolete antique item and is sold as a collectors item only. No Licence is required in the United Kingdom.
