US Purchase, Canadian Ross Mk1 Bayonet.

The US purchase a small number of Ross Mk1 bayonets & Rifles in WW1, for training & their Home Guard. It has US acceptance marks to bayonet & scabbard, with the scabbard also Regimentally marked to the 58 Regiment Westmount Rifles. The bayonet is dated 1910 & the early scabbard (narrow belt loop) is dated 1909. This is a very scarce bayonet in the UK, it is in Excellent condition and is for sale at £475, INCLUDING UK postage...............

US M1905 Bayonet for use on the 1903 Springfield & M1 Garand Rifles. The bayonet is maker marked RIA (Rock Island Arsenal), with date of 1908 under the flaming bomb. It is complete with the very scarce 4th type M1910 scabbard with rawhide covered wood body & canvas outer sleeve. All in very good condition. GERMAN M1871 (S17) Seitengewehr bayonet, dated 1875, made by W.R.Kirschbaum, Solingen. Matching Reg. marked to bayonet & scabbard 82.R6.203. A scarce bayonet in Very good to Excellent condition. GERMAN S71 Sawback bayonet, (44 teeth) & dated 1880. Maker marked Gebruder Simson. Bayonet and scabbard Reg. marked but not matching. A very scarce bayonet and in Excellent condition, would be difficult to find a better one. SCARCE WW1 GERMAN GOTTSCHO S14 2nd type, complete with scabbard and frog. Wood grips in good condition, blade has old rust staining which has been cleaned back to good metal. Scabbard & frog may be WW2 substitutes. Good clear markings to ricasso & proof mark to blade back edge. Taking condition into account, this scarce bayonet is for sale at £315, including UK postage..........(similar for sale on dealer web sites for £325 without scabbard and one complete for £895 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......
