**VERY RARE**ONE OF 4,000**1st VARIANT**WW2 1942 Spanish Star Nazi German Military Contract Model B / Colt M1911 9mm Parabellum Calibre Semi Automatic Pistol For Nazi Heer, Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe & Fallschirmjager / Paratroopers**2018 UK/EU DEACTIVATION - 20648

The whole family of the "Star" pistol was (and still is) manufactured by the Spain-based company Bonifacio Echeverria, SA. Back in the 1920s the company began to develop semi-automatic pistols, based on the iconic Colt M1911 design. These pistols were more or less similar to the original M1911, but usually chambered for 9x19mm Luger rounds. This is a very rare Second World War Nazi contract 1st Variant Star model B pistol (see Axis Pistols by Still page 120 and pages 123 and 124 where 2nd variant, 3rd & 4th variants are illustrated (1st Variants are not illustrated in his book). During WWII Germany contracted various arms manufactures from different countries to supply it with weapons. Although Spain remained neutral during WWII it did supply the Nazis with military support and materials. Spanish arms firm Star were contracted to supply Germany with its version of the legendary Colt M1911, the Model B pistol. Initially a small quantity was ordered and in early 1942, 4,000 pistols were delivered. They are referred to as the "first variant" , and differ from all other variants by not being Waffen coded (German acceptance marked) and can only be identified and dated by the serial number and Spanish inspection and proof stamps. The weapons were well built and issued to specialist units within the Nazi army, navy and air force including paratroopers. This example has the correct letter N = 1942 code, letter X within a box symbol and letter P within a flaming grenade proofs. The serial number of our pistol falls within the known range B210951 to B260250 of 1st variants. Correctly there are no external visible Nazi marks on this pistol all confirming it to be a Nazi contract 1st variant. The right place to find all older Star pistol model numbers is on the butt, on the flat plate on the bottom of the gun, just rear of where the magazine is inserted and comprises of a letter and serial number. Our weapon is marked on the butt ‘B’ (model) and number 236808 (within 1st variant Nazi Contract number range). The pistol correctly has matching numbers ‘808’ on the breech and slide. The pistol has manufacturer marks and correct proofs previously listed including ‘N’ which denotes manufacture in 1942. The pistol retains its original blue finish & measures 8 ½” overall. It has fixed combat sights, military lanyard ring and correct original chequered panel wood grips as found on period Colt M1911 pistols. The weapon comes with its original ‘Star’ marked removable 9 round magazine. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2018 the pistol cocks & dry fires and the action locks back as it should. The pistol is correctly without the Colt grip safety and its safety catch locks the slide as it should. The price includes UK/EU deactivation certificate & UK delivery. Sn 20648
