Create my profile now!This is a very scarce Bavarian ‘1871’ rifle bayonet and scabbard to the 6th Reserve Infantry Regiment. It is in excellent condition and has a brass hilt, smooth on one side and with grooved panel on the reverse. The hilt has a flat spring on one side (fully working) and a steel cross guard with muzzle ring. The ricasso is stamped with the manufacturer mark ‘Weyersberg & Stamm, Solingen’. One side of the crossguard is marked with serial No: 63547 and the other ‘6 R.R. 178’ (6th Reserve Infantry Reg’t-1st Company Weapon No78). The single edged blade measures 46.7 cm (59.8 overall) and is in excellent condition with only minor signs of age related use. The leather and brass scabbard has an oblong loop for the Bavarian frog. The metalwork *Locket loose but not detached* and stitching *approximately 2 cm loose but not detached* are in good order. The price for this rare pair includes UK delivery. Sn: 20073.
