This is an original & scarce WW1 Sam Browne equipment belt rig. The belt has all brass buckles and fittings including shoulder cross strap. The belt is mounted with an excellent .455 calibre MK VI service revolver holster with flap cover, retaining strap and stud fastener. The rear of the holster has the correct belt loop. The belt is also mounted with an excellent original ammunition Ammo pouch with flap cover, retaining strap & stud fastener. The buckles, leather & stitching of all components of the rig are intact. The belt is adjustable from approx UK size 38” to 34” waist. There are no visible manufacturer, date or WD marks on this rig. The rig is accompanied by an original WW1 dated British Mounted Infantry ammunition bandolier. It has the correct 5 individual ammunition carrier pouches with full flap covers capable of carrying 50x .303 calibre rounds in total (10 in each pouch). Each carrier has heavy rivets and stitching together with a single brass stud to secure the flap covers. The bandolier is fitted with its original heavy duty brass buckle. The leather is impressed with 1918 date together with manufacturer name ‘Marney & Co Ltd’ and ‘Walsall G&M’ (illustrated in image 2). All leather rivets and stitching are present & intact.
