~ WW1 British 1917 Dated Pattern 1907 Wilkinson Made Enfield No1 Rifle Bayonet And Scabbard ~
This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1, better known as the SMLE.
The stamps on the ricasso show the pattern 1907, the manufacturing date 1 '17 (July 1917) and Wilkinson as the manufacturer.
The opposite side shows the Enfield inspection marks, the broad arrow and the bend test mark.
The scabbard is made from leather and has the original frog attached.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade has a length of 17 inches (43.2 cm). The bayonet has a length of 22 inches (55.9 cm), 23 inches (58.4 cm) inside scabbard. It weighs 780 g.
~ Condition ~
The bayonet is in good condition. The blade is largely clean, rust free, with no signs of nick towards or damage. The wooden grips are complete and the catch works as intended. The leather on the scabbard is slightly worn but in good order.
