The No.4 MK 1 was the standard sighting telescope used on the rocking bar sight on the standard 18 pdr field piece and possibly the 13 pdr. It has a 5.5 x magnification and a 5.5 degree field of view. The rocking bar gave it an independent line of sight from the barrel’s angle of elevation. Our example is in excellent condition. It has a post reticule. It is 17 ¼” overall length. The sight is clearly marked ‘Vickers Sons & Maxim Ltd 1906 No.571 Tel. Sighting No.4 (Mark 1)’ above WD arrow. The price includes UK delivery.
