During the 1970s this 'survival' bolo was issued to the Spanish Green Berets Special Operations Unit the 'Cuerpo de Operaciones Especiales' (an example the same as ours is illustrated on page 3 of the book ‘Survival Fighting Knives’ by Leroy Thompson). It is just under 10” overall with a distinctive just under 5 ½” Bolo blade with a file / saw back section. The grips are finely chequered secured by two steel screw bolts. The pommel, tang and curved cross guard are of one piece steel construction. The blade has the National Toledo Armaments Factory emblem on one side (Crown above combined NFT illustrated) The cross guard is stamped on one side ‘K51’ and the reverse 'U'. It comes with its original leather scabbard which is in good order with just light service wear. The steel chape with ball end has no dents. The stitching is intact as is the retaining strap and stud fastener. A nice example. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 23477 (in FS box)
