The W.W. Greener GP (General Purpose) Martini Action Shotgun** is a rugged, single-shot, break-down firearm built around a tilting-block Martini action. Manufactured by the famous W.W. Greener in England starting around 1922. Early variants were developed for police and colonial forces (such as the Egyptian Government contracts), while later commercial variations served as versatile "general purpose" utility guns for civilians and farmers. This is an attractive Greener GP Martini Action 12 Bore shotgun. It has all original wood which has just light bumps and bruises consistent with age & use, bead fore sight and plastic or bakelite butt plate with embossed Elephant trade mark (the top section of the butt plate has broken off at some point in its life but the remaining plate is secure. The action is colour case hardened. One side of the action is crisply stamped 'W.W. Greener Maker Birmingham England’ & the reverse ‘Greener’s GP Gun’. The sighted barrel is stamped with proof / inspection marks. The barrel length is 30” and it measures 46 ½” overall. The gun is serial number G77756. Deactivated to UK / EU specification in 2020 the gun’s lever action operates and the trigger moves but it does not cock and dry fire. Sn 23703
