A nice original WWI German trench/fighting knife and steel scabbard. The knife is a hunting style variant and features a carved wood simulated stag-horn hilt (see page 40, plate 177 of Steven's book 'Fighting Knives'). The dagger has a German silver pommel cap, ribbed ferrule and 'wave' cross guard. The hilt is one piece, carved wood to simulate stag-horn. The blade is 6" in length, double edged with a medial ridge. The blade has some areas of light staining consistent with age. It is 11" overall. The knife is complete with its original leather scabbard with steel chape. The price includes UK delivery. ED 2380.
