Air pistols must only be discharged on private land with the landowner's permission, and pellets must not leave the boundary.

A gun that bleeds CO2 quickly will need new valve seals before use. For PCP pistols, ask about service history and check the pressure gauge reads correctly. On any used air pistol, inspect the barrel crown and breech seal, as these are the most common wear points.
