British, WW2, 1944 Dated, Folding Hand Saw & Case Sets in Carry Case.

The WW2 British hand chain saw was a portable, two man, flexible saw issued to troops for cutting timber or clearing obstacles and were manufactured between 1942 and 1944. These saws were usually issued to vehicles as part of their equipment. This is a complete British hand saw set containing its original two saw set with the relevant handles, file and saw setter in its 1944 dated carrying case. The two flexible chain saws measure 48 inches in length and has a pair of handles that screw together, two wooden handles for holding the sharpening file and the saw tooth setter, all of which are present. The chain is stamped on the blade WOOD & SON LTD 3/2169 a crowfoot and 44 (1944 date). the green canvas carry bag has two belt loops on the back and a metal hook for attaching it to pattern 37 webbing. The bag is stencilled on the inside in a large black stencilling with 44 (date) being legible.
