The Gulf War was a 1990–1991 armed campaign waged by a 35-country military coalition in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Spearheaded by the United States, the coalition's efforts against Iraq were carried out in two key phases: Operation Desert Shield, which marked the military buildup from August 1990 to January 1991; and Operation Desert Storm, which began with the aerial bombing campaign against Iraq on 17 January 1991 and came to a close with the American-led Liberation of Kuwait on 28 February 1991. This is an original Iraqi Forces M80 /M90 Combat Helmet issued to all Regiments of the Iraqi army, recovered From Iraqi Minesweeper Personnel By British Royal Engineers during the Gulf war. The Iraqi combat helmets are a crude copy of the US M-1 style helmet but made of sand-coloured fibre / composite material. The helmet is in clean as issued condition. It has its original webbing liner & chin strap with buckle. The leather sweatband has an ink signature that looks Arabic. The helmet is - Click to reveal - size 7. The price includes UK delivery.
