This is a rare, original Nazi German Luftwaffe NCO & OR’s visor cap (similar Luftwaffe cap variations and insignia are illustrated in Chapter 5 of ‘The Collector’s Guide To Cloth Third Reich Military Headgear’ by Wilkins). Made of Fliegerblau (Flier’s Blue) Trikot material it has the correct gold / yellow hue piping and ribbed black Rayon headband. The front of the cap is mounted with the correct white metal Luftwaffe Eagle with Swastika & National Tri-Colour Cockade Cap Badges. The material has no mothing or damage. The cap has a patent leather visor and chin strap. The cap has its original grey leather sweatband and padded cloth liner. The liner and sweatband have minor service wear. The inside of its sweatband has its original manufacturer’s label crisply marked ‘Huber 9 Staffel Kampfgefdjw Boeldie 157’ (illustrated in image 2). The cap is - Click to reveal - size 6.
