The Metropolitan Police Service was formed in 1829 and is the largest Police Force in the UK. This is a very good, 1970’s era male Constable's / Sergeant's helmet of the Metropolitan Police. It has a Navy blue body, rose top boss and Metropolitan Police Queen’s Crown ‘ER II’ (Elizabeth Regina) metal & enamel helmet plate. The inside has a foam and webbing lining, net sweat band and webbing chin strap arrangement with buckle. The webbing lining and foam have faint indistinct contemporary ink hand writing no doubt the collar number’s and names of the Police officers issued with the helmet. It is approx UK size 7.
