An Early WW1 Period British Hiatt’s Patent Leather Covered Wood Police Truncheon With Associated Liverpool Police Nickel Plated Brass W. Dowler Birmingham Whistle & Belt Buckle. The leather of the truncheon is clean and intact and is impressed with ‘Hiatt’s Patent’ cartouche. The ball shaped butt id fitted with leather wrist strap. The truncheon is 15 ¼” overall length. The Police whistle functions as it should . It is 2 ½” length and engraved ‘Liverpool Police’. The whistle also has maker detail ‘W. Dowler Birm’. Its ring is fitted with steel link chain and leather tab with eyelet for uniform attachment. The belt buckle has cast Liverpool heraldic arms, belt bar and hooks. The buckle measures 3 ½” x 2 ¼”.
