Description

WW2, 1943 Dated, Gunsight Graduation and Parts off a British 4.7 inch Q.F. Mark IX Gun.

The 4.7 inch QF Mark IX and Mark XII guns armed the majority of Royal Navy and Commonwealth destroyers in World War II. The British CP XXII (Central Pivot Mark XXII) was a single gun mounting used by Royal Navy destroyers during World War II to house the QF 4.7-inch Mark IX & XII naval gun. These are part of the gun sight and mounting which were fitted on the single gun mounting used by Royal Navy destroyers during World War II to house the QF 4.7-inch Mark IX & XII naval gun. for this gun comprising A black Bakelite dial is double sided which engraving in white and red. The dial is engraved on both sides B.S. 1943 4.7 Q.F. IX** ON C .P. XXOO 50LB PROJ 4 C.R.H. FULL CHARAGE M.V. (2650 F.S. & 2600 F.S.) ON ALTENATE SIDES. There is a brass geared quadrant plate and brass warning plate which was held on by 4 screws and is stamped WARNING ELEVATION LOCKING STAY SINGLE EYE MUST BY REMOVED BEFORE ELEVATING GUN PRESERVING SCREW PROVIDED.
