WW1 German Trench Fighting Knife with Double Edge Blade & Scabbard By Anton Wingen Jr. Sn 11052 - 11052

A WW1 German Trench fighting knife with a double edge blade and scabbard manufactured by Anton Wingen Jnr. The trench fighting knife has a one piece horn grip which is in very good undamaged condition and is capped with a steel disc pommel which is riveted. The double edge blade has a steel flared crossguard and ferrule. The blade is polished steel and is engraved on one side with "Anton Wingen Jr Ibrixfeiner Stahlwaren Solingen" and on the other with a an image of a 'Soldier Attacking' and "Nahkampfer" (Shock Trooper). (See page 19 of the German Combat Knives 1914-1945 book by Christian Mery). The blade measures 5" long, the knife being 10 1/2" overall. The trench knife is complete with the original brown leather scabbard which has a steel chape. The scabbard is shaped to take the trench knife and it has a stitched on belt loop which has a cross over securing strap and press stud. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 11052
