Australian ‘LIA2’ Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 765. Bayonet

This is the Australian version of the British ‘L1A1’ and remained thus for all of its service life, unlike the British version which had minor changes, up to ‘L1A4’. The Australian version is unmarked , and was originally parkerised all over, but the grips on this example have been painted black at some point in its lifetime. The blade is in very good condition. The scabbard is the ‘No5’ version with the steel mouthpiece and has ‘S294’ stamped to it. It is showing a few signs of age/use related wear but works as it should.
