This is an excellent fully functioning Cased, WW1 British WD Swiss Made Officer's Military Compass By B-L. It has a brass case and is mounted with lanyard ring. The glass face and numbered brass outer ring are perfectly intact. The rear of the compass is nicely marked by the manufacturer 'B-L ' together with 'No.893’, WD arrow, '1915' date & ‘Made In Switzerland’. The rear is also contemporarily marked ‘H. Bamford’ no doubt the name of the WW1 Officer who owned this Compass. The front rim of the case is stamped ‘Verner’s Pattern’. It is complete with its original brown leather case with buckle faster, hinged lid and carry strap. The rear of the case is impressed with WD arrow and ink stamped ‘B128319’. The front of the case is impressed by the maker ‘Harvey & Co Ltd Walsall’ together with ‘1938’ date. The price for this cased, Swiss made WW1 dated British WD compass includes UK delivery.
