Japanese Arisaka Bayonet 1897-1950 with Wrap Around Grip & Scabbard sn 8424:20

An original Japanese Arisaka Bayonet 1897-1950 with wrap around wooden grip and metal scabbard. The bayonet is from the Tokyo Arsenal, (pre WW2) and features a wrap around wooden grip which is secured with two bolts. It has a hooked quillon and muzzel ring. On the head of the pommel it has a stamped number "35982" It has a polished single edge blade which measures 398mm long. On the Ricasso it has the Japanese manufacturers mark for the Tokyo Arsenal and the hour glass stamp. The scabbard is metal.
