Belgian, FN, Model 1949, Luxembourg Export Contract, Short Bayonet & Scabbard. ED 2091.

The Fabrique Nationale (FN) Model 1949 Short Bayonet was made for FN-49 semi-automatic rifles and exported from Belgium to the Armies and Police of other Nations under a number of contracts. This is an excellent original Luxembourg contract FN-49 Short Bayonet & Scabbard. The Luxembourg Gendarmarie were issued with these weapons. It has a 9" double edged blade with phosphate finish, steel crossguard and pommel. The pommel is correctly stamped 'ALO' (Luxembourg Contract designation) with number '4256' (all illustrated). The reverse of the pommel is stamped 'SA30' with small Crown mark (See pages 120-123 of The FN-49 By Johnson). The bayonet has walnut slab grips with correct rivets. It is complete with original black painted steel scabbard with locket. The throat is stamped with a small Crown mark. An FN-49 Rifle is available separately on this web site.
