Early Belgian Gendarmerie Warrant Officer's Kepi. Sn 12437 - 12437

This is an early Belgian Gendarmerie Kepi for Warrant Officer (NCO) ranks of the National Police (Rijkswacht) which was part of the Belgian Army. The kepi is in good condition and free of any damage. It has a black peak with a braided and knotted cord chin strap with a black 'dash' pattern. Secured with a metal 'Exploding Grenade' button on either side. The kepi has a white head band which also has a black 'dash' decoration. To the front it has a metal 'Exploding Grenade' button with a loop of braided cord similar to the chin strap looped up to a cockade in red, white and black. The sides and top are in very good undamaged condition, piped in red round the top and above the head band and up the sides on each side. Inside it has a tan leather headband with a cloth lining. There are three numbers inside along with a name, two crossed out, the uncrossed one is "V.R 24769". It measures 160mm across from side to side and 190mm from front to back.
