This is an original boxed 1920's Webley Mark 1 .177 Calibre Air Pistol (see pages 16 to 20 of Bruce's book Webley Air Pistols). When the Mark I air pistol was first launched onto the market, a key factor in fostering its appeal to those interested in shooting lay in the use of standard gun making materials and the techniques employed for its construction. It has undamaged metal work with even patina. It has very good wood grips with correct inlaid Webley ‘winged bullet’ roundel to the left-hand side. The cylinder is stamped serial number ‘23356’ and the cylinder has ‘Webley & Scott Ltd’ and patent markings. It has an adjustable rear sight & blade fore sight. The box is in good order with instructions adhered to the inside of the lid. There are four original (two unused) Webley targets and in depth illustrated booklet The left side above the trigger has the correct safety catch feature.
