In late 1963, during the cold war era, the Walther model P1 semi auto pistol, a refined version of the WW2 P38, was adopted for use by the West German Bundeswehr (Germany Military & Police). This is an excellent original Walther P1 Pistol. Its metal work has its original finish. Its wrap around grips have no damage. The left side of its slide is crisply stamped 'P1' and with Walther banner together with calibre detail & 9/64 (September 1964 date). The pistol is serial number 265767. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2025, the pistol’s slide locks back and moves forward under spring tension, its hammer, safety catch and trigger move. Its magazine has been fixed in place during the deactivation process. The pistol is contained in its associated period cardboard box with removeable lid. The box bears the Walther name, banner & P38 model detail. The box contains its original P38 illustrated instruction pamphlet. Also included is it's associated post WW2 black leather holster with full flap cover. The holster has a single magazine carrier to the right side, single retaining strap with stud fastener & 2 belt loops to the rear.
