The Webley Mark I Air Pistol was produced between 1924 and 1964 with refinements being made to the model throughout the production period (see pages 15–32 of Webley Air Pistols by Gordon Bruce). This is an original 1920’s – pre WW2 Webley Mark I Air Pistol. The pistol is stamped above the left hand grip with batch or serial number "7038". It has the correct early spring clip barrel catch and piston only accessible from the rear end of the cylinder and walnut grips with brass ‘W&S’ medallion correctly appearing on the left side only. It has "Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham & London" on the left side of the cylinder together with "Webley Air Pistol Mark I". The rear sight block has ‘British Patent No. 219872’ and ‘Foreign Patents Pending’. The pistol retains some of its original blue finish and has age and use related marks. The pistol cocks and fires with a strong spring action. The pistol comes with its original cardboard box with Webley imagery and instructions correctly adhered to the inside of the lid (illustrated in the images). The box also contains a later fabricated cardboard Webley pellet box which is filled with a Styrofoam block to keep its shape for display (no pellets). The price includes UK delivery. Sn 23484:28
