British 1802 New Land Pattern Socket Bayonet Converted To India Style Catch. BAYO 244 - BAYO 244

This is an early 1802 New Land Pattern socket bayonet which has been converted of modified by the addition of an India style catch which has been secured by 2 screws at the front of the socket instead of the rear as usual, (see Skennerton, page 61 for a picture of a similar bayonet). The bayonet has an overall length of 510mm, a blade length of 390mm, socket length of 100mm and a muzzle ring diameter of 24.5mm. there is an inspection mark of consisting of a crown over 8 but no makers mark, (See Skennerton page 57). This is a nice early bayonet and the price includes UK delivery. Sn. BAYO 244
