This is an original No 7 Mk 1 bayonet with a 8” blade (12.25" overall). The bowie knife style blade is deeply fullered to both sides and is fitted with brown undamaged Tufnell grips. The blade is stamped on one side of the ricasso No7 MK1 and on the other side 1948 and P in a circle (Poole). The swivelling pommel has a crowfoot stamped into it. The bayonet is contained in a No 5 Mk2 type with a steel mouthpiece fitted. The black plastic frog has a retaining strap to secure the scabbards frog stud with a brass buckle. The frog is of riveted and sewn construction. The bayonets swivelling and locking mechanism work correctly. See Skennerton item B299 on Pages 242 to 244. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 366
