The Martini Henry Pattern 1876 socket bayonet, officially named the ‘Bayonet common long’ was nicknamed the ‘Lunger’ by the troops. The blade is triangular with blunt edges and was purely a stabbing weapon. The bayonet measures 25 ¼” overall with a blade length of 21 ¾” & a 3” length socket with correct locking ring. The blade has WD with broad arrow and ordnance inspection marks. The MK II black leather scabbard has brass mounts and correct 2 brass rivets in the body. The brass throat mount with frog locket and brass chape have WD with broad arrow inspection marks. All leather and stitching of the scabbard are clean & intact. The price includes UK delivery.
