BSA Airsporter MK1 .22

A very good condition B.S.A, MKI First Model Airsporter, .22 Calibre Air Rifle. It is serial number GB6657 which dates it to between 1956-1958 (see Page 48 of Hillers Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The woodwork and metal work are all original & in excellent condition with only minor marks to the fore stock and light age related wear to the barrel and trigger guard, which appears to have been repainted. First Model MKI's were not grooved for telescopic sight and on this example the grooves are correctly absent. The cylinder mark ‘The Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd Airsporter .22 Air Rifle Made In England’ together with BSA’s piled arms trademark isn’t visible. The forestock has finger grooves and the butt is ribbed. It is fitted with adjustable flip up rear sight & shrouded foresight . The rifle is 44” overall length. It is under lever cocking and its loading and firing action works perfectly. The price for this rare First Model Airsporter includes UK delivery.
