Description

I inherited this BSA Mk2 air rifle from my father-in-law who had a small collection of airguns. This one has hardly been used as can be seen from the photographs which show very little wear-and-tear for such an old rifle (produced in the 1970s). Overall it is in very good condition, shoots accurately and is more than powerful enough to dispatch a rabbit or pigeon at sensible ranges (it was marketed as just under the legal power limit).

I have recently replaced the piston O ring , buffer washer and breech seal - because they degrade with time - and took the opportunity to replace the mainspring at the same time. The rifle is now a joy to shoot and accurate. Cocking is smooth, the trigger pull is good and the open sights are fully functional and effective. The woodwork is excellent and as can be seen from the photographs, the black-painted finish is in very good condition throughout. Nothing is broken, bent or damaged. I am reluctantly selling this rifle as I have to downsize my collection.

The only downside is that my father-in-law, for security reasons, etched his postcode on the rifle as clearly shown in the photographs. This is not prominent and I had to look hard to find out where it was even though I knew it was there.

So overall this a classic (I would hesitate to say vintage but some would) British, BSA, break-barrel, spring air rifle that is in very good condition and shoots superbly. Spares are readily available so it has many years of life left in it.
