There are no maker or date marks on this pistol but it is in the form of single action American Remington-Elliot Derringer / Pocket pistols made in the 1870’s through to the 1880’s. All blackened metal and wood grips are undamaged. It has a sheathed trigger and thumb spur hammer. Its 4” steel barrel correctly pivots to the right for loading (the hammer must be at half cock to pivot the barrel). The pistol is 7” overall length. The barrel has a brass bead fore sight and ‘v’ notch plate rear sight. Its rifled bore has staining & residue consistent with age and use. Its loading and firing actions work crisply. The price includes UK delivery. NB as an obsolete calibre rim fire derringer no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as a part of a collection or display.
