This is an excellent, complete, original & very rare WW2 1942 dated 1st Pattern British Paratroopers Jump Helmet (See page 92 of For King & Country By Glenn). 1st Pattern helmets featured a manganese steel shell with fibre/ rubber rim. They were only manufactured during 1942 but were worn throughout WW2. This helmet has no denting and is complete with correct fibre/ rubber rim, liner & black leather chin strap harness with chin cup. The helmet has its original green paint. The leather sweatband is date stamped '1942' together with manufacturer's mark 'BMB' and size '7 1/8'. The helmet comes with its original green net camouflage cover with draw string.
