The Belgian Browning Hi-Power was used by the British military and armed forces of other nations from the 1960’s. Hi-Power pistols were issued to the British Special Air Service throughout the Cold War era & during the Falklands War in 1982. This is an excellent Browning Hi-Power Semi Automatic pistol. This example has fixed combat sights & military knurled ring hammer. It is stamped with the Herstal FN & Browning’s Patent information (illustrated). The pistol is serial number ‘T229075’ which is stamped on the slide, breach and frame (in 1964 the product code for the Hi Power was the letter "T". The serial number of this pistol is in the range T214000-T258000 indicating manufacture in 1968). The breech has Belgian Liege ‘ELG’ & other inspection marks. It has undamaged, chequered plastic grips and magazine. Deactivated to UK specification in 1998 the pistol, cocks & dry fires, the safety catch works and the magazine can be removed.
