Cold War Era 1956 Dated Polish / Poland Army Special Forces Fighting Knife & Scabbard. Sn 23756 - 23756

An original 1956 dated Polish Army Special Forces Fighting knife and scabbard. The knife has a clean polished steel drop point blade which measures 6 ¼” (10 ¾” overall) . The blade is crisply stamped at the ricasso on one side with ’11 within roundel’ & 1956 date and the reverse has ZO4399 and faint inspection mark. The knife has an undamaged wood grip secured by two rivets. The wood is impressed with faint inspection mark (illustrated). The pommel is a black metal cap secured with a rivet. The knife has a re-curving finger guard and leather washer. The scabbard is black metal and is stamped with un-matching number K07960 on the plate that secures its integral leather belt hanger / frog which has a belt loop and retaining strap with lug fastener.
