This is from the first initial batch of 1911A1’s ever made in 1924 known as the transition model. 10,000 were ordered by the US government running from serial numbers 700,000-710,000, this being in the 702,000 range, so fairly early on in the batch.
Correct transition model inspectors mark can be seen below slide release, WTG (Walter T Gordon).
These are well desired among 1911 collectors in the US and rarely come up for sale on the UK deact market.
Deactivated in 2004 so it cocks, dry fires and strips down.
Slight pitting to the right side of the slide, however overall it is in a nice condition and appears to have been seen some of use in its life. It has a been there and done that look to it.
