Colt muzzle-loading cap & ball .44-calibre revolvers were used during the American Civil War. Made by Colt's Manufacturing Company, they were used as a side arm by Cavalry, Infantry, Artillery troops, and Naval forces of both Union & Confederate forces. The Colt design lives on today in the form of quality black powder reproductions from Italian manufacturers Uberti, Pietta, and Euroarms. This deactivated Uberti made example of the Colt Army revolver is in excellent condition. The pistol has a 4 ¾” steel barrel and measures 10 ½” overall. It has a brass grip frame & action, steel barrel, cylinder & case hardened captive lever ram rod. It has excellent polished ivory coloured grips. The pistol is serial number 100. Deactivated to UK specification in 2023 the pistol cocks but doesn’t hold, its cylinders are blocked and the barrel is clear.
