I am a late-comer to serious shooting. Way back in the 1960s I was a reluctant member of the school cadet corps. We lugged Lee Enfields around on our shoulders, but never got to shoot them. Now happily retired, I have the time and resources to spend on guns. The more modern rifles don’t do much for me – I need to be holding (and polishing) a decent piece of wood. I’m both fascinated and horrified by The Great War. I have an SMLE and a Mauser and I just need a shootable Lebel to make up the trio.
