Custom Made Pattern 1776 Muzzleloader None Rifle

British custom-built/assembled Pattern 1776-style rifle of uncertain manufacture, probably late 20th-century, incorporating correct .65 caliber and 1:48 twist barrel, believed to be a custom-built example.

The rifle follows the general form of the British Pattern 1776 rifle with historical markings. It does not appear to be a standard Pedersoli or other readily identifiable modern commercial reproduction.

The rifled barrel has eight grooves with an approximately 1 turn in 48-inch twist. British proof and inspection markings are present on underside of barrel with London Proof House 2024.

The exact maker and date of manufacture have not been established. Some features and markings may suggest the use of older components, although no claim is made that the barrel or any other component is an original 18th-century Pattern 1776 part.

An unusual and attractive example for the collector of British military-style flintlock rifles, particularly for someone interested in the development from the Pattern 1776 rifle to the later Baker rifle.
