DEACTIVATED INERT. This is an early British, Boer War Era 37mm (37 x 94R) Pom Pom nose fused HE (High Explosive) Factory presentation round. the cartridge case is engraved on the side VICKERS MAXIM POM POM and has traces of silver plating at the bottom and on the base. The cartridge case has no headstamp and the primer has been struck. The round is fitted with a nose fuse high explosive projectile with two copper driving bands and a brass screw in nose fuse which are both unmarked. Vickers gave these presentations round out as part of their factory advertising and are seldom encountered.
