DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a WW, 1917 dated French 37mm (37 x 94R) Pom Pom HE (High Explosive) Bouncing mine shell round. The brass cartridge case is headstamped 37-85 1.17 (January 1917 date) 1 PDPs (Parc ‘dArtillery de Paris) and the flaming grenade stamp. The elongated nose fused steel projectile has two copper driving bands. The projectile is stamped round its circumference 2996 CO 121 17 (1917 date). The projectile is fitted with a steel nose fuse with a left hand screw head. The steel Robin Modele 1916 nose fuse is stamped 2009 and has a small brass slotted screw at the top of the fuse. The fuse is complete with its original brass screw in gaine. There are two tightening lugs machined into the steel nose fuse near its top.
