DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a French WW1, 1908 dated Model 40-55 Mle 1880 time and percussion nose fuse that was used on the French 155mm and 105mm guns. This is a large time and percussion nose fuze from a shrapnel projectiles and measures 5 ½ inches in length with a large diameter screw thread. The fuze is graduated on a spiral system from 0 to 49 on the spiral timing ring. This ring has cast into it Mle 80-M93 & ECP (Ecole Centrale de Pyrotechnie, Bourges) 208 40-55.
